Fall

I'm hoping to post on this blog often.  It's pretty funny that this is only the 2nd one.  I'm hoping to get the goPro videos up on youtube and also get some pictures out there.

Here's where I am at now:

Married as of Aug 1

Ripping up kitchen floor to put down tile

Running everyday

Got some seriour lower abdominal pain (hurts the most when sneezing)

This has been a pretty good fall for training.  I've been basically running with the high school kids 6 days a week and then getting a long run in on Sundays.  Haven't had a day off from running since August 19.

Haven't been able to fish nearly enough the past two months because of coaching and working on the house.  Have a few trips coming up that I am really looking forward to, one being the annual Thanksgiving Salmon River trip with Ard.  This year should be epic, as just about every year has been better than the prior.  Who knows what kind of weather we will face this year.  We've seen it all:  rain, snow, sun, single digits, 60's, etc...  I'm hoping for snow!

As far as training once high school XC ends, I'm hoping to keep the streak alive.  I would like to get on the track this winter and shoot for some over 30 PR's in the mile, 3k, and 5k.  I miss racing.  It seems like all I've been doing since surgery are Grand Prix races.  I want to get the competitive fire back.  I don't know why but the series just isn't what I want it to be.

Hope you all have a great November,
kev

Training

8/11/13 Long Run - Lucas Parsons and I met up with Ruben Sanca and Scott Boiko this morning for a long(ish) run through Mine Falls Park in Nashua, NH. We ended up running Ruben's 7.3 mile loop twice with a little add on at the end so I could get 15. Couldn't believe how nice the weather was throughout the entire run. 58 and dry was such a relief from the constant humidity this summer threw our way.

Definitely going to be running Mine Falls more often because the place is awesome. A little flat, but still great.

The breakfast afterwards wasn't bad at all. Boiko took us to this spot in Tyngsboro that had some monster pancakes. I was impressed with the food. Our waitress on the other hand... She was fine, but couldn't help telling us the trouble her last customer had given her. I'll just say this, she was left a $0.01 tip and called one of the worst four letter words you could call a woman. She was so upset by this that she followed the customer out to the lot and told her never to return.

Running is starting to get there. 74 last week and 75 this. Maybe I'll try racing without being on the fishing boat all day like Yankee and Cigna. I have no idea where the fitness is at but we'll soon find out.
